Summer's End
Sweet cool summer rain,
Dark clouds on the horizon.
The sun sets all rosy and gold.
I shiver as darkness surrounds me,
I am alone.
The end marches swiftly.
I depend on myself.
And the whispers of God,
Who says, "I love you."
When the summer days end,
"You will be ready."
The storm clouds rumble.
I force myself to breathe.
And stand still in the rain.
Until the patter joins with my heart,
My heart moves my feet,
And I fling away my fears,
With the rhythm of the night.
